Instructions
Make the Chicken Patties
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, mayo, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, ketchup, milk, and Dijon mustard.
- Mix gently until just combined, then form into 4-5 oval patties about ¾ inch thick.
- Heat 2 Tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Gravy
- In the same skillet, melt butter and add onions and mushrooms.
- Sauté for 5 minutes, until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for 1 minute to cook off the raw taste.
- Slowly pour in beef broth and water, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Season with salt and pepper, then bring to a simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Step 3: Simmer the Patties in the Gravy
- Return the cooked patties to the skillet, spooning gravy over the top.
- Cover and simmer for 10 minutes, letting the flavors blend.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
