Bang Bang Shrimp Recipe: Easy & Delicious Dish

Description

Crispy, golden shrimp coated in a creamy, spicy-sweet sauce—this Bang Bang Shrimp recipe is quick, easy, and perfect for dinner or parties. Learn how to make this restaurant-favorite dish at home with simple ingredients and step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp honey (or agave syrup)
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying (or baking spray for a healthier version)
  • Chopped green onions and lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper. Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. Coat each shrimp in flour, dip in egg wash, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  2. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic. Taste and adjust sweetness or spiciness as needed. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat (about ½ inch deep). Fry the breaded shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Alternatively, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Toss the cooked shrimp in the creamy sauce until evenly coated. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, bake the shrimp instead of frying.
  • Adjust the sriracha and honey levels to suit your spice and sweetness preferences.
  • Serve with steamed veggies, salads, or quinoa for a balanced meal.
